The Marketing & Event Production firm Ground Lift Media and the Minnesota-based design collective Burlesque of North America have joined forces to present the 2010 installment of DRE DAY: A Celebration of the Life and Music of Dr. Dre. February is quickly approaching, and this will be our eighth year celebrating Andre Young and his creative contributions to the world of Hip-Hop.

It's time to strap on your Compton hats and locs and celebrate the music and legacy of one of the greatest Hip-Hop artists of all time, the icon responsible for introducing the world to acts as diverse as N.W.A., Snoop Dogg, The D.O.C., Eminem, J.J. Fad, 50 Cent, Arabian Prince, and so many more. It's Dre Day 2010 and everybody's celebratin'!

This year weíre excited to present performances by Chicagoís own Psalm One, as well local Soul/Funk band The Jordan Years as they recreate classic Dr. Dre songs and the original tunes Dre sampled. DJ sets by The Comeups (Intel, Maker, Pickel), TREW, Big Once, & Kool Hersh. Live art by Jose Garibaldi & Mike Bianco. Photobooth by Camerainmyhand.com, Video by Chicago Music Project.

Psalm One Bio:
Hailing from the Midwest region's rising hotbed of talent, Psalm One has been named one of the next to blow up by the: Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, The Onion and URB Magazine's (then) Next 100. She's a Chicago Southside native who's been developing her craft for over a decade. But, Psalm One isn't trying to be your favorite female rapper. She's just trying to be your favorite. And she's bringing more than candy to the table. She's artistically witty, sonically soulful and lyrically unstoppable.

Psalm has shared the stage and garnered respect all over the world, touring with some of the best in the business including: 50 Cent, Slick Rick, Atmosphere, MF Doom, De La Soul, A-Trak, Camp Lo, Murs, Jean Grae, Royce tha 5'9, Diverse, Goapele, Blueprint, Brother Ali, Masta Ace, Prince Paul, Casual of Heiroglyphics, Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Gym Class Heroes, Bahamadia, Brother Ali, ESG, Flosstradamus, People Under the Stairs, Little Brother and many, many more.

The Jordan Years Bio:
There is an eclectic contingent of jazz heads, hip hop kids, vinyl junkies, and classic rockers that frequented the infamous parties and late-night studio sessions held within the smoke filled, brick-walled confines of Chicagoís West Town Recording. The Jordan Yearsí dusty, smoky, soulful grooves became the unofficial soundtrack. They are an ode to the golden age of Motown, the DIY ethic of the new music business, and the winning spirit held within their cityís heritage.
